Help... A word with many faces.....

What we understand by the word HELP? Someone is asking for help. But not always a person can speak it out loud. Let's take from the start of journey of the Human Life. A baby, when a baby cries we understand what he/she needs. But there are instances when they don't cry still their mother understands the need. Likewise as we grow up we tend to speak our problems by shouting or crying or even by showing anger. But as time goes and we understand we cannot speak what happens then? Who will understand us? Who will know what we need?

Help is not always what we ask for as we grow up. People around us have to understand them be it our parents, teachers, peer-group, someone we love or be any elder around us. When a girl is abused or is raped, she doesn't open up herself to anyone around of fear, shame or any such feelings. She cannot shout for Help. But she remains silent or she shows certain behavioral changes which is a call for help we have to understand. How many cases come out even after getting voice? How many live with the pride in head? How many knows what should be done next?
A girl who has been married is considered to be only answerable to her husband and her in-laws. But if they are the ones torturing then who will she ask for Help. She can be helped by people around who cannot tolerate it like the maids or the neighbours. They can become their voice. But how many cases we see others being voice until she dies?
A student who has been pressurized by is teachers, parents, peer-groups and all other elders to get good marks also need Help. But they cannot speak it up to anyone. They are the ones who need a voice. They are the ones who need support. They are the ones whom we all should care about. But are they helped? Do we get their voice?
A person who lives alone or who likes to be alone even when being surrounded by people can have lots of thoughts in their mind. When alone a person imagines stuff to such an extend that He/She can commit a crime or even attempt suicide or can cause self-harm. Do we try to know why they are opting to be alone? Or why they cannot speak up? Or who they are hiding from?
An old man and his wife who lives alone also needs help. They are in their old-age and now they need support. But where are their children? Where are those who can help them?

Yes, Help is a word which should be said but it is not said but has to be felt. Be it anyone we all can try to hear them at times. Make a daily habit or rather routine that you will sit with someone new daily and listen to them. Let them pour their hearts out. At times when a persons speaks to us they start feeling comfortable after speaking for sometime and soon they open up to us. If we let a person open up might be we will know the help he or she needs. We say Dance it off and don't Think. But ask yourself once is it what we will do ourselves? Do we stop thinking about something so soon? Do we forget them easily? No, we do not do so and we cannot until we speak our heart out to someone.

I would suggest as I have always said we should have patience. We must listen to the person in front. Try to be gentle while we speak. A lot of issues around us happen because we do not listen to anyone. Even when our parents speak we should listen to them because if there is any problem they don't say us as they think we will get burdened by them. But yes try develop this habit a golden habit of SPEAK-UP and LISTEN-UP. If you need help and you feel if there is only one person you can speak to about it. Speak to that person only but do speak. And if someone feels that he/she can speak to you, take out time for them and try to understand them, feel them, console them, help them. If emotions, fear and all negativity starts bottling up we will stop living and that can harm us. So, be happy and try to keep people around us happy. Hope no-one gets offended by my thoughts.
